I have read the about the recent restriction for accessing current videos bein accessable only to those who post and repost videos.

Just a thought, how about as an alternative to posting videos, for one who is willing to pay a reasonable membership fee in order to access the curent videos.

Appreciate your thoughts.

May I ask why you come with this idea? What is so horrible about the idea of reposting......

I actually spent about 45 minutes last night trying to post vids on your forum. I used all three services you recommend. The email goes on forever, but then it times out and I get no link to post. So I would rather pay a fee, at least I know that once I pay, it will work. I gladly pay my membership fee at FSU and it is worth every dollar.

This is just a thought for you to consider. If a sufficient number of viewers to your forum agreed to pay a membership fee, that fee should pay for someone else posting the vidoes. There are some kids that could us extra money and some adults that would part with it in lieu of spending unproductive time trying to transmit the vids. The kids are better at transmitting the Vids, and even enjoy doing so.

Just let me say that I think I never managed to upload a file in 45 minutes. My connection is just not that good - ok, and I do more things on the internet at the same time.

Yes, some people are very fast in reposting, but for me an upload takes time. That's how it is. But it does not mean you have to sit in front of the computer all the time, does it? Just try it out, hundreds of users managed it before you.....

hmmm...FSU ist just a messageboard and they have to pay servers and so on, this is a free forum (I have to pay nothing for it) where we post skating videos, it is a whole different thing. We want to provide the videos for free to not have any copyright issues...you know? This is a good idea but impossible to do...

Actually, a lot of our vid makers are the adults The problem I see with this is two things: One, Who does the money go to? There are a lot of people on here that repost videos how do you decide? Two: If everyone decided to pay instead of reposting, there would be no videos and it would defeat the purpose of the board... 3) I think there could be problems with this because then it could count as we are "selling" videos, which is not allowed for legal/copyright reasons... People are capturing videos right now to share for free to friends on this board: it's allowed, once it becomes a profit making service there could be trouble. and 4) it's harder to keep track of, right now we can just look at each person and see if they help out on the board, it's harder to go go through the non-reposters as well

I'm so busy trying to improve my computer science skills, keeping order in the files, learning how to share and what is expected by me here and there. I totally forgot about laws.
You must have done a big job.
Plus, you cover all the coverages around the world. Which is more than coaches and journalists do.

I try mostly to avoid argument but I must say somthing here. I am offended that FSU makes you pay. In order to pay you must say who you are. That is first something that these boards are not about. Second it is a way to control what is posted. Pay more and you can say and do to others what you want. This can be mean and nasty dictatorship stuff. I am about freedom to say what you feel is true not to be intimidated by people who want to be so powerful to beat up on posters at will.
Each board can opperate free or even at profit with a large number of members. At over 7000 members this board can get enough hits I think to be at least even in costs.
Please do not go to paying for priviledge to post. Please keep this board free of controlling knowing of who each poster is. It is what killed the ice-dance.com board.

You seem to be mistaken. Ice Dance.com definately has (or at least had) a message board... I wasn't a member but it's still there I came across it the other day when searching Tessa/Scott's profile but I couldn't see the board to tell if anyone still posts since I wasn't a registered user.

But anyways, that is all off-topic. The point is about this board here only and whether we will accept fees and that answer is "No."
