I posted a couple right after Worlds and got access but since then I haven't had time with catching up with school after Worlds and as a result I was recently taken off having access.
I posted 3 today but I was wondering how many more I need to do before I can get acess again.
Thanks

I had just given you access again before I read this post. It's not just the amount but it's compared to the other things you do here, how often you repost and so on.

But. If you think, you now got access again and that's it - you might be removed again from those forums if you stop reposting again. I say this that clearly cause you - and many others - seem to think that reposting at one point gives you access eternally. Which is not the case. Access is for REGULAR REPOSTERS.

Just a question on this.. If we go on holidays for a week or so, is there anyone we can inform of this?
No worries otherwise, the access is opened fast enough for me any way... tongue.gif

This is getting annoying imho. Everyone posts the same. Are you not able to read the posts in this thread, so that we don't have to answer the same thing all the time?

That you even dare to whine in public is astonishing for me. "I have been uploading a few programs"????? You had uploaded one and got access for that. You stopped reposting immediately. When you were denied access, you uploaded again one single file. Do you really call that regularly reposting?? You are here since September and never uploaded anything until you wanted to get the bonus for the current events. Sorry, but that sucks.

Hi Everyone,

I would like to offer my opinion. I think what the people in charge of the forum means by "regularly reposting" is that you have to repost at least once a day. Of course this is only my opinion. If the people in charge can give an actual number and time frame, besides the words "regularly reposting," I believe it will help those who would like to have access to the current events section or anyone else who would like to know about what "regularly reposting" is.

Also the section stated "How to get access to..." in regards to current events states this: "There is no real limit we set, we have members with very different internet connections, and there are different times of the year with different traffic, so there is no general rule. But if you have access to such a forum and then stop reposting, you will be expelled from the current forums again."

It is just a suggestion to set an actual time frame to help clear things up about "regularly reposting."

tdnuva- 04-10-2006
Nope. Clearly no.

A. There is some flexibility depending on time of year. (Which is already told in the quoted thread). During high season we check more often who reposts and not.

B. It's not about once a day. Not many would be able to do that.

C. To say it again - this is a bonus for the regular reposters. If we say e.g. two files a week, many would do JUST that. No matter which files, needed or not, not caring for requests or whatever. We have already many users here who try to do that. It's kind of perverted. If we say clearly how much you should do, we get more people in the current events - but still have few uploaders who help those who look for videos.

We really (try to) check what you do. We even give the benefit of doubt for those who start reposting. But if we then notice you stop again, you are off the current events and I don't see the need of whining about that considering how much the people got in contrast to what they share.....

luvthymusic- 04-10-2006
I understand your view point. So I guess people who want to have access will just have to wait for those in charge to give them the ok or not, no matter what.

That's very sad that people can't repost to help others, even if there is no reward. Even though I myself do not have time to post/repost as often as others considered as regular reposters, I am fine knowing that I can and am allowed to post up videos to help others, even if I do not get the access to the current events sections.

So hopefully what you said clears things up a bit.

It is simple, if you have been taken off, you did not post enough tongue.gif

There is another way to get access, if you have skating tapes with videos not being posted here yet, you send the tapes to me or an other member who can make vids and you even can gain liftime access for doing that...depending on how many tapes you share smile.gif

I am not surprised that many people wants to comment on this issue. I myself am indeed one of those people who are interrogative about the issue of "regular" reposting. I've had several words with the Administrator about the definition of the word "regular" but the admin couldn't seem to come up with an answer that satisfies me. Instead, reading through the words, the admin seems to have gotten irritated and the replies became far from sincere. That is abosolutely fine for me because I do understand how stressfull it is to read through and reply to all the comments and complaints throughout the forum. I really am grateful to the administrators who are pouring a lot of effort and time working hard for the conservation of this fascinating forum.

But since I had difficulties sorting out my network usage problems, I gave up "regular" reposting and posted whenever a file that I possess was requested in some of my favourite threads (other than the current events thread of course, which I don't have access to) within my network usage restriction.

I've been a member for some time and I do admit that I don't have a great big number on the left side where it says "Posts:". However, unless a clear straight forward number or a definition is notified, people will continue "commenting" on this issue and many will in the end might think that "regular" is due to the admin's subjectivity, in other words, personal likes and dislikes. I truthfully wouldn't want that to happen.

There exists an obvious method, as many might have already realised, to simply get around with reposting and still gain access to the current events forum, and as being a network administrator myself, I predict that this will lead to an unbalance between the posters/re-posters and the downloaders, and a curruption of the forum unless some action is taken. I pray that all Administrators take this issue seriously.

I am sorry for the long message and thank you for your attention.

Teresa Dawn- 04-12-2006
Actually, all our answeres say the same thing, and all are sincere. In a sense, yes it is based on our subjectivity as in "regular" is different for each person. Considering, as we keep saying, how many videos they beg for, how many times they break the rules, and when they repost (ten quick reposts as soon as they are kicked out of the forum and then a month of not reposting for example will get them kicked out again, even with ten reposts... where as someone who posted 10 videos throught a month, 2 or 3 a week sorta thing, would certainly be kept in for posting the same amount of videos during the same time... provided of course they follow rules) So you see, it is different. We check every single person's posts before letting them in. As for how we do it according to people we like/dislike, well, I will admit that we sometimes tend to "like" the helpful, non-whiner, non-beggar, rule-follower personality type... yes.

Also, as LLOS stated... If you have a slow connection, there is an alternative. If you have video tapes of skating events that we don't have and cannot make videos yourself, you can send these tapes in to someone who can and gain access. Contact one of the admins about such. Especially we are looking for older footage as it is hard to find.

I wanted to let you know that I have posted my required videos to get access to the worlds and olympics 2006. I don't know if this is the proper place to let you know this. The rules said to reply by PM to let you know, but maybe I'm stupid but I don't know what you mean by PM. So, hopefully you will find this message. Sorry for the inconvenience.
